She records as backing vocalist with the group Stormy Six. In the 70s she worked for the advertising world and the theatre and met David Riondino, with whom she worked for many years. In 1980 she recorded Maracaibo, a ballad about love and adventure, to which she added a dance flavour, to make it appealing for the 80s people. The arrangements were by Mario Saroglia for Music production. Lu brought the tape in a disco, and it was an immediate success. For some month only pirated cassetes were circulationg, then in 1981the single, issued by Carosellowas out and then aremix for Moon records. EMI got interested in Lu, who had also producedSkipperin the meantime. She signed with EMI and wroteDance all nitewith which she was at Fesivalbar and won the Disco Estate in 1983. WithAurorashe was again at the Festivalbar and in 1985 she won Saint Vincent\'s Festival withRimini-Ouagadougou. She was a special guest at Festivalbar in 1985. But her true musical adventure was in the disco where her song were great hits, also because they were part of the soundtrack of the movieVacanze di Natale. In 2001 Lu produced a CD calledMaracaibo 20th Anniversaryfor Self Distribuzione. Lu Colombo & Maurizio Geri Swingtet L\'uovo di Colombo Lu Colombo\'s CD with the \'Maurizio Geri Swingtet" is a hymn to 1900\'s pop music, where you can experiences various influences, from the music of the 30s, to latin music, to the pop of the 70s. The idea for this new record is born from the collaboration with famour authors like Claudio Sanfilippo, Denis Gaita, Davide Tortorella and David Riondino and with young authors like Francesca di Robilant, Nicolò Cavalchini and Massimo Galuppi; Maurizio Geri and his great group gave the music the distinct sound it has. Swing now becomes part of Lu Colombo\'s repertoire, and the latin beat becomes part of the Swingtet. L\'uovo di Colombo is an intimate and yet funny record, wonderful for the radio and the theatre, but also great for live gigs. Maurizio Geri Guitarist, singer, composer, Geri is from Pistoia. He collaborated with Caterina Bueno, getting to know the traditional tuscan music. He\'s a member of the BANDITALIANA quartet of Riccardo Tesi; his guitar style mixes ethnic mediterranean music with the improvisation of swing. \'Maurizio Geri Swingtet\' is active from 1995: it's inspirations are the French gipsy music (manouche) and Italian contemporary music; the sound of acustic guitar is part of a path that goes from the east to the west, with a centre in the Italian folk music. The group was at the famous \'Django Reinhardt\' jazz festival of Samois in june 2000. The group has recorded two CDs, \'Manouche e dintorni\' (Felmay 97) and \'A cielo aperto\' (Visage).
