Jazz bassist and composer Doug Ebert's third album is his most inspired session to date. 'Trials & Tribulations' tells the musical story of despair and triumph; facing adversity with strength and courage and coming out on top. The original compositions were born during the difficult days of his wife's treatment for leukemia. The album is uplifting and inspiring, and a lesson to all who face such a trial. The album features a talented San Francisco Bay Area lineup. Returning from his second release 'Poor Dog' are guitarist Terrence Brewer and drummer Rob Rhodes. The talented multi-genre pianist Tim Campbell rounds out the group. The band's chemistry shines throughout, from the up-tempo swinger '280', to the delicate ballad 'Patience' and the driving title track. Listeners may liken this music to that of artists such as Pat Metheny, Brad Mehldau and Dave Holland.
