Iconic old-time trio, The South Carolina Broadcasters, are pleased to present their third full-length studio album. Through tireless effort and countless miles on the road, the band has put it's soul into this music and record. Life is full of heartbreak and love, good times and bad and we've all got but a Short Time To Stay Here. This album is about vocal expression, as all too often words are ignored or merely become perfunctory in bluegrass and country music. We aim to remind the listener that these songs have something to say. Just listen to the hurt in "When I'm Gone", the desperation in "Write Me Sweetheart", and the joy in knowing there's a better place "Where the Soul Never Dies". We hope you'll enjoy this new album and that'll it'll make you "Sing, Sing, Sing." David Sheppard plays the guitar and sings. His musical influence are many and varied. But in the end it is this music that touches something in his soul. Sarah Osborne (banjo, vocals) feels most alive singing this music and playing these songs. She will always be thankful for her dear friend that introduced her to this music and the beautiful souls who have welcomed her into harmonies and campsites and have allowed her to play along. Ivy Sheppard (fiddle, banjo, guitar, vocals) is pursuing her dream of creating a world famous old-time string band. She reckons enough people don't follow their hearts. Things seem to be going pretty well so far. 'The Broadcasters bridge their cross-generational gaps by course of talent - shared, divided, rehashed and revised - impelling some sort of experiential collision: through aching and dismay, transcendence and hope, noise and silence, body and soul, their interpretations seem to suggest that we are together, all of us, Southern children going forward at top volume. ' - Colton Wooten, Raleigh News & Observer (Nov 28, 2012 'Bringing singing back to traditional old-time music... After hearing 'Short Time to Stay Here,' I believe the recordings of the Broadcasters are here to stay.' -Brent Carrick WPAQ 740 AM Mount Airy, NC 'Clear, powerful playing. Great singing. Respect for the past, all the while setting the bar high for musicians of the future. Strong music.' - Joe Newberry (Oct 06, 2012) '...harmonies are so tight, you remind me of acts like Jim and Jesse with a genetically driven harmony.' - Bill Revill, 'Acoustic Blender' WESU FM Middletown, CT (May 19, 2012)
