I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got became Sinéad O'Connor's popular breakthrough on the strength of the stunning Prince cover Nothing Compares 2 U, which topped the pop charts for a month. But even it's remarkable intimacy wasn't adequate preparation for the harrowing confessionals that composed the majority of the album. Sinéad O'Connor ranked among the most distinctive and controversial pop music stars of the alternative era, the first and in many ways, the most influential of the numerous female performers whose music dominated airwaves throughout the last decade of the 20th century. Brash and outspoken - her shaved head, angry visage, and shapeless wardrobe a direct challenge to popular culture's long-prevailing notions of femininity and sexuality - O'Connor irrevocably altered the image of women in rock; railing against long-standing stereotypes simply by asserting herself not as a sex object, but as a serious artist, she kick-started a revolt which led the way for performers ranging from Liz Phair to Courtney Love to Alanis Morissette.

Tracks:
1.1 Feel So Different (2009 Remastered Version)
1.2 I Am Stretched on Your Grave (2009 Remastered Version)
1.3 Three Babies (2009 Remastered Version)
1.4 The Emperor's New Clothes (2009 Remastered Version)
1.5 Black Boys on Mopeds (2009 Remastered Version)
1.6 Nothing Compares 2 U (2009 Remastered Version)
2.2 Jump in the River (2009 Remastered Version)
1.8 You Cause As Much Sorrow (2009 Remastered Version)
2.4 The Last Day of Our Acquaintance (2009 Remastered Version)
1.10 I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got (2009 Remastered Version)
Title: So Far...the Best Of Sinead O'connor
Artist: Sinead O'Connor
Label: Chrysalis
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 724382158127
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2017-09-22
Number of Discs: 1

Import version features a different track listing to the US pressing. Sinéad was born in Dublin in 1966, and was discovered by Paul Byrne, drummer of U2 protégés In Tua Nua, while singing wedding covers in the city. After co-writing the first In Tua Nua single, she left school to focus on music, studying voice and piano at the Dublin College of Music before relocating to London in 1985. Released in September 1994, Universal Mother was described by Sinéad as the first attempt to try to expose what was really underneath a lot of the anger of the other records. The album features sparse, striking but delicate arrangements on intense and honest songs. Standout moments include the singles 'Thank You For Hearing Me' and 'Fire On Babylon', along with contributions from Germaine Greer (on opening track 'Germaine'), and Sinéad's son.

Tracks:
1.1 1. It was during the promotional campaign for the album when Sinéad made a controversial appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Tracks:
1.1 Why Don't You Do Right?
1.2 Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered
1.3 Secret Love
1.4 Black Coffee
1.5 Success Has Made a Failure of Our Home
1.6 Don't Cry for Me Argentina
1.7 I Want to Be Loved By You
1.8 Gloomy Sunday
1.9 Love Letters
1.10 How Insensitive Scarlet Ribbons
1.11 Don't Cry for Me Argentina (Instrumental)
Title: Universal Mother
Artist: Sinead O'Connor
Label: Chrysalis
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 850055290105
Genre: Rock
Release Date: 2023-10-06
Number of Discs: 1
Additional Details: REISSUE

Sinéad O'Connor is widely regarded as one of the most influential female performers of the '90s, not only for her sensational performances and raw vocal emotion but also for her outspoken confidence to express herself publicly. Sinéad was born in Dublin in 1966, and was discovered by Paul Byrne, drummer of U2 protégés In Tua Nua, while singing wedding covers in the city. After co-writing the first In Tua Nua single, she left school to focus on music, studying voice and piano at the Dublin College of Music before relocating to London in 1985.Released in September 1994, Universal Mother was described by Sinéad as the first attempt to try to expose what was really underneath a lot of the anger of the other records. The album features sparse, striking but delicate arrangements on intense and honest songs. Standout moments include the singles 'Thank You For Hearing Me' and 'Fire On Babylon', along with contributions from Germaine Greer (opening track 'Germaine'), and Sinéad's son Jake.

Tracks:
1.1 1. The track was written by Bono, Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer for the soundtrack to the 1993 film In the Name of the Father. The song was produced by English musician Tim Simenon (Bomb The Bass) and Gavin Friday and does not appear on any of O'Connor's studio albums, but in 1997, it was included on her first compilation album, So Far... The Best Of. In the Name of the Father is based on the true story of the Guildford Four, four people falsely convicted of the 1974 Guildford pub bombings that killed four off-duty British soldiers and a civilian. O'Connor's heart wrenching, powerful vocal was the perfect way to deliver the track's devastating emotional message with lyrics written by Bono. In a 2023 interview with Steve Pafford, Gavin Friday talked about the recording of the track: We showed Sinéad a rough edit of the film, after which I spent sometime with her going through the lyrics the next day in STS Studios in Dublin. And with the phenomenal talents of producer Tim Simenon we recorded Sinéad's breathtaking vocals. All she asked for was the room to be candlelit, and within two takes she had made her magical mark on the song... what Sinéad captured within that song spoke as loud as the bombs that opened the film and as deep as the pain The Troubles had wounded our nation This exclusive release for Record Store Day 2024 is on clear vinyl and pulls together the versions of the track released in 1994 as well as the B-Side, The Father and His Wife The Spirit performed by Sinéad and Gavin Friday.

Tracks:
1.1 You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart
1.2 The Father and His Wife the Spirit (With Gavin Friday)
