Muwashah is a type of vocal composition common in modern classical Arabic songs which follows the rules of muwashah poetry with respect to the number of lines, the length of the line, meter, and rhyme. This album showcases both the older Spanish Andalusian muwashahat, which dates to medieval times, and the modern muwashahat style.
