While not strictly blues, Toussaint is considered to be the chief architect of ‘60s New Orleans R\u0026amp;B. As a producer, songwriter, arranger, and solo artist, he wore all these hats over the course of his lengthy and prolific career. His behind the scenes work alone would've been enough to make him a true legend.
