A Hundred Blooms extened Mix This unique CD expands the first song from Alpha Tango's companion CD, Under the Bimba Blossoms. We asked our musicians to improvise over the structure of the song, a slow 15 beat cycle or taal called Pancham Savari, using the rag Kaunsi Bhairavi Misra. The results were so compelling, we had to share them with you. Predominantly instrumental, with lovely interspersed vocals expressing the powerfully sensual lyric taken from Jayadeva's classic Sanskrit from the 13th Century, this 52 minute excursion is perfect music to set a mood while you focus on thoughts, massage, or meditation. The poet Jayadeva sets the scene for his epic story, the Gita Govinda. It is spring. Radha searches for her true love, Krishna, on an island in the forest by a river. Her friend sings to her to heighten the mood. A Hundred Blooms can be heard in it's original shorter form on the album Under the Bimba Blossoms. The version heard here features extended improvisations played for us by the talented musicians who contributed to the creation of both CDs.
