He recorded for Liberty Records in the 1950s, many with noted musicians from the West Coast jazz scene, and of the 2 LPs featured on this CD twofer, DO-RE-MI has Troup singing his own compositions DADDY, ROUTE 66, BABY, BABY ALL THE TIME etc. The second LP, HERE'S TO MY LADY has Troup singing standards such as THAT'S ALL, THE NEARNESS OF YOU, and JULIE IS HER NAME, a song he wrote for Julie London.
