In 1974, he started his solo career with the notorious smash \"Hang On In There Baby,\" which he also wrote and produced. Several years later, Johnny re-recorded his big hit with a more modern musical backing that especially appealed to the Euro-Disco audience and created quite a buzz in the dance clubs.
