During his service as Secretary, then Vice President and member of the Board of Directors for the NAACP, Weldon's efforts for racial equality extended beyond the borders of America. Weldon headed an investigation into America's dealings with Haiti, an investigation which led to the restoration of Haitian sovereignty.
