Cottonwood, an acoustic group that offers a range of music from Duke Ellington to Tracy Chapman, bluegrass to light jazz, and original tunes with an eclectic flair! Diversity, high energy, imaginative arrangements and great voices are set at a decibel level you won't have to turn down. The band has been performing since 1992. Their passion for their music is evident both on stage and on their CDs, 'Voted Most Poplar' and 'Floating.' One of their originals is the Neo Nazi Samba. 'It occurred to us that the Neo Nazis might have more love in their lives if someone wrote a love song for them,' says singer, songwriter and guitarist Kenn Amdahl. They each bring their own personal taste to the musical table offering music for nearly every genre. Their first CD, 'Voted Most Poplar,' had two tracks chosen for 2 different acoustic music samplers that were distributed to radio stations all over the world. These songs are being played from Australia to Czechoslovakia. Kenn Amdahl - singer, songwriter and acoustical guitarist. A former music instructor, Amdahl is the author of several books that can be reviewed at geezerfolk.com. Bill Wilton - singer, songwriter and bass guitarist. Wilton, an accountant of all things, once toured the country with a University of Illinois folk trio. Barbara Henry - female vocalist and disciplinarian. Henry works as a computer specialist at the Rocky Mountain National Wildlife Refuge and professes that Julie Andrews was her music teacher because she spent so much time listening to her Broadway and movie albums.
