Sidney de Paris is certainly one of the most under-rated trumpeters in jazz history. While he was on a musical par with his brother Wilbur, he was certainly a hotter jazz musician! Tommy Ladnier, another under-rated trumpet virtuoso. He was taught by the great Bunk Johnson and his biggest break came when he was hired to play in the King Oliver band. His most famous recordings came near the end of his life in the late 1930s and these are the featured tracks, playing with Sidney Bechet and Mezz Mezzrow. Lee Collins is the man who replaced Louis Armstrong in the King Oliver band at the height of that band's fame. On this current album he is featured on two numbers each backing vocals with Richard M. Jones and the sultry Victoria Spivey.

Tracks:
1.1 Bill Bailey
1.2 You Call Everybody Darling
1.3 Pistol Packing Mama
1.4 Someday
1.5 Yellow Rose of Texas
1.6 Comin' on with the Come on
1.7 Revolutionary Blues
1.8 Maggie
1.9 Jada
1.10 Weary Blues
1.11 Really the Blues
1.12 Everybody Loves My Baby
1.13 Getting Together
1.14 Jelly Roll
1.15 If You See Me Coming
1.16 Royal Garden Blues
1.17 Trouble in Mind
1.18 Black Rider
1.19 Ain't Gonna Let You See My Santa Claus
1.20 Hollywood Stomp
https://tower.com/products/de-paris-sidney-ladnier-tommy-collins-lee-great-jazz-great-trumpets-1936-1952
