A cousin of John Lee Hooker, Earl was an exceptional slide player, known widely as "The guitarists' guitarist". He recorded few vocals as he was hindered by a stutter, to compensate, he concentrated on developing his playing technique. This compilation concentrates on his earliest recordings for a variety of record labels between 1953-62, several of which were not commercially released until after his death. This is the first time that this body of work has been thus compiled, and many of these sides are difficult to find elsewhere on CD.

Tracks:
1.1 Ride Hooker Ride
1.2 Sweet Angel
1.3 Alley Corn
1.4 On the Hook
1.5 Jammin'
1.6 After Hours
1.7 Pinetop's Boogie Woogie
1.8 Earl's Boogie Woogie
1.9 Move on Down the Line
1.10 Steel Guitar Rag
1.11 The Hucklebuck
1.12 Red River Variations
1.13 Mexicali Hip Shake
1.14 Razorback
1.15 Blue Guitar
1.16 The Drive
1.17 Believe I'll Settle Down
1.18 Calling All Blues
1.19 Swear to Tell the Truth
1.20 Galloping Horses a Lazy Mule
1.21 Blues in D Natural
1.22 Rockin' with the Kid
1.23 Rockin' Wild
1.24 Universal Rock
1.25 Blue Guitar
1.26 How Long Can This Go on
1.27 These Cotton-Pickin' Blues
1.28 Off the Hook
1.29 That Man
1.30 The Bright Sound
https://tower.com/products/earl-hooker-electrifying-blues-guitar-of-earl-hooker-ride-hooker-ride-1953-1962
