A piano trio led by a drummer was an unusual proposal and one that initially surprised listeners who had followed Erskine through louder adventures with Weather Report and the Stan Kenton Big Band. But this alliance with pianist John Taylor, the trio's primary composer, and bassist Palle Danielsson soon found it's own following.
