Dijk, Felix Van: Tumbling Years
Title: Tumbling Years
Label: CD Baby

'Your CD sounds great! Will Lee, Bass player on The David Letterman Show and in The Fab Faux Absolute Powerpop : Those of you who enjoyed last year's Steve Robinson disc (like me) will definitely want to check out this debut release from actor-turned-musician Felix Van Dijk, a winning combination of pop and folky pop with a British sensibility. Notable is that none other than Paul McCartney added a chord or two to 'This Lullaby', the kind of heartfelt ballad with which Sir Paul is more than familiar. But with or without a Macca contribution, this album stands on it's own with quality tracks like the uptempo 'Barefoot In The Sand', the breezy 'Heart of Your World' and the wonderful ballad 'Forever In My Heart'. If your tastes run in this subgenre at all, you'll love this disc. Daggerzine.com CD Review: Felix van Dijk I assume is European and while he may be, he lives in NYC and creates some of the most finger-snapping, gentle pop I've heard in ages. And if I'm to believe what I've read, Paul McCartney contributed a chord to one of the tunes. The guy obviously has friends in high places but one listen to lovely pop tunes like 'Forever in my Heart', 'Barefoot in the Sand' or 'This Lullaby' you'll know that famous friends or not, the guy has talent. Well known Canadian singer Adi Braun introduced the next song as a new song that she felt was one of the finest new songs she had heard recently. It was a tender, lovely ballad entitled 'Easy to Breathe' by Felix van Dijk who was in the audience. It had a wonderful refrain that stated 'When I'm with you/it's so easy to breathe'. The Metropolitan Room, NYC Joe Regan, Cabaret Exchange.com Just bought this and I love it. Great surprising twists in melody, and wonderful musicianship. Amanda Holmes, Rome, Italy Just listened to the CD and it's amazing! The songs are beautiful and touched my soul...who among us has not experienced the message in these songs -- love, regret, sadness and hope...well done! E. Nardi, New York Great listening...For me 'The Grass is Greener' is the best track. CD design is excellent..very evocative photos. Simon Prebble, New York Just bought the CD. Love it! Lots of variety and yet it all hangs together really well. Melodic, inventive. Tumbling Years, Lullaby, and Easy to Breathe knocked me out. Mark Giller, New York.
