Released in 1972, it is John Lennon's third post-Beatles solo album, fifth with Yoko Ono, and third with producer Phil Spector. This album found the Lennon's in an explicitly political phase; understandable as Lennon was neck-deep in his struggle to remain in the United States, a conflict rooted in his anti-war and anti-establishment politics and the enmity of the Nixon administration. While John's former songwriting partner Paul McCartney may have had a more commercial appeal after the Beatles split, Lennon's work was a bit looser, edgier and laced with wit, wisdom and a dab of venom. Sometimes shambolic and often beautiful, John's solo work took a separate journey than Paul's but is just as riveting four decades later.

Tracks:
1.1 Woman Is the Nigger of the World 5:15
1.2 Sisters O Sisters 3:46
1.3 Attica State 2:52
1.4 Born in a Prison 4:04
1.5 New York City 4:32
2.1 Sunday Bloody Sunday 5:00
2.2 The Luck of the Irish 2:54
2.3 John Sinclair 3:28
2.4 Angela 4:08
2.5 We're All Water 7:15
3.1 Cold Turkey 9:00
3.2 Don't Worry Kyoko 15:46
4.1 Well (Baby, Please Don't Go) 5:00
4.2 Jamrag 5:20
4.3 Scumbag 5:59
4.4 Au 6:39
