'Devils elbow' is the second album from Sydney based band the Mess Hall and was recorded by gerling's burke reid at big jesus burger studios in Sydney. The album was produced by burke with the Mess Hall. The Mess Hall, featuring jed kurzel on guitar and cec condon on drums, are renowned for their blistering live shows and raw, bluesy rock sounds. 'devils elbow' features musical contributions from malcolm clark of the sleepy Jackson, loene carmen, justin kurzel, ben cairns and simon ferenci. 'devils elbow' follows the Mess Hall's aria nominated ep 'feeling sideways' in 2003 and their critically acclaimed debut album 'notes from a ceiling' in 2005 the editor of spin magazine in the US said this of 'notes from a ceiling'... "on notes from a ceiling, a pair of aussies make a stomping, swampy blues racket more stonesy than stripesy. Not to mention catchier than ivan rodriguez at a weekend double-header".
