Omar was invited to an artist residency at EMPAC with Zimbabwean dancer \/ choreographer Nora Chipaumire to compose the music for Nora's dance-theater piece, Miriam, inspired partly by the life of legendary South African singer Miriam Makeka. During the residency period, Omar was able to use the state-of-the art facilities at EMPAC, including a magnificent Yamaha CFIII concert grand piano, to record solo piano. The resulting improvisations comprise Omar's sixth solo piano CD, Senses.
