Reverse Priorities Bio Vancouver's own Reverse Priorities believes in doing things right. Emerging from the underground hip-hop community high off the smoke of their first two independent releases, R.P. is set to build on that success with a new collection of compelling songs. Add to the mix R.P.'s undeniable stage presence and diverse cultural appeal and you see a group that is set to blossom into full color and rise out of it's underground roots. The 5 members of Reverse Priorities have all been friends for close to 10 years. Fayaz Bardai (28), Lee Edmondson (25) and Greg Labine (26) are rappers/lyricists, J.T. Edmondson (27) is a rapper/lyricist and producer and Marvin Merisca (28) is the resident DJ. On stage the 5 crew members go by the names Dlux, Illucid, Spokes, J.T. and M.V. respectively. M.V. is also a member of 'The Dream Team', a well-known local DJ team and spins vinyl at clubs throughout Vancouver and his hometown of Montreal. For the past two years, R.P. has been receiving positive feedback and favorable reviews alike. Their first single 'Straight High' has had consistent airplay on Vancouver radio giant 99.3 The Fox during their independent hours and is a favorite of local radio host Trace Ventura. 'Straight High' has also been heard in several prime time slots on The Fox and is receiving 'much love' from listeners as well. Reverse Priorities have been tearing the roofs off venues for quite some time now. As one of the few independent hip-hop groups that can pack the house and keep the honeys 'shakin their booties' every night, R.P. has also shared the stage with a wide range of acts. Shocore, Organik, Sweatshop Union, Rhymes With Orange, Ten Ways From Sunday and Crop Circle are just a few of the killer groups that have performed alongside of Reverse Priorities. In 2001, Reverse Priorities were semi-finalists in 99.3 The Fox's BandFEST competition and since then the group has been a mainstay in the Vancouver music scene. The new self-titled CD 'Reverse Priorities' has just hit the streets and comprises of 15 hot tracks selected from over 75 beats that producer J.T. has created over the last 4 years. Reverse Priorities always tries to avoid the use of samples and aims to create their music from scratch and stay 100% original. The CD was recorded at the groups' own private studio which through his production company Paranoyd Productions, has allowed J.T. to spend countless hours on his craft and to work with other artists in many genres (Jahranimo, Zade, Zukie Joseph). Reverse Priorities remains a solid and unified group. As a hip-hop act with a tight new CD, R.P. has committed them selves to success. Add the R.P. merchandise, stickers and website that already exist and it is clear that Reverse Priorities is considering the big picture and is looking nowhere but up. We invite you to check out the music for yourself and then YOU can decide whether or not to believe the hype!
