Markus was working on a project in Miami during the pandemic and decided it was best not to travel, so he rented an apartment in South Beach and put down roots. Word quickly spread and he soon found himself with more work than he could handle. Early in 2021, Markus decided not to take on any more session work, and after teaming up with vocalist Karl Lennox, began focusing on his own music exclusively. The dynamic duo quickly found a home with the legendary, newly revived Miami based Afro Wax label, who welcomed them with open arms. Markus was given carte blanche in the studio and created a great working environment where he felt completely at home.
