The recordings of these two masters playing together are limited to a series of 1953\/54 dates taped at the Haig and the Tiffany clubs, the 1958 album presented here, a brief encounter at the 1964 Newport Jazz Festival, and a few 1983 concerts recorded during a disastrous European tour together (due to the lack of mutual understanding between the two stars).
