Formed in the early 1960 's in the Boyle Heights section of East Los Angeles, The Afro-Latin Soultet had it's rhythm roots in the Barrio of Latin Soul fusion. Members of the legendary band were Jose Romero (keyboards); Antonio Sanchez (guitar); Carlos Mendez (guitar); Freddy Gomez (drums); Cisco \"Frisco\" Lopez (percussion); Juan Domingo (conga; bongo); Arturo Martinez (trumpet); Poncho Rivera (misc. Rhythm); Eddie Mendoza (electric bass); El Mundo (stand-up bass) and Renaldo Chewiwi (reeds). Presented here is \"Jazztette,\" an album they recorded in the mid-1960 's that was never released, which now finally sees the light of day in the digital domain to the delight of rare groove fans everywhere.
