Factory Benelux was founded in April 1980 as a collaboration between Factory Records and Les Disques du Crepuscule. Early releases were 'spare' recordings by a Certain Ratio, Durutti Column and Section 25, after which Factory Benelux released a mixture of all-new recordings by Factory artists and licensed repertoire. Thus Benelux recorded key albums and singles by New Order, Section 25, the Names, Minny Pops, Crispy Ambulance, Stockholm Monsters, the Wake and others which never appeared on the more famous parent label.
