The songs featured in this recording are folk songs of the five minority ethnic groups of Qinghai and Gansu provinces - Tu, Bonan, Dongxiang, Yugur and Salar. As with Chinese traditional visual arts, the song titles explain their mood and origin. The five minority ethnic groups that perform on this album mainly live in seven autonomous counties under the administration of the Gansu and Qinghai Provinces in northwestern China. Bordering Qinghai to the west, Gansu is located between the Tibetan Plateau and the Loess Plateau. The Yellow River flows through the southern part of Gansu, where the Qilian Mountains are located. Volume 2, Folk Songs of Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang is scheduled for release in October 2019.

Tracks:
1.1 Song of the Moon 00:01:20
1.2 The Beautiful Grassland 00:02:26
1.3 La La Lo 00:01:17
1.4 History of the Yugurs 00:01:11
1.5 Dressing the Groom 00:00:50
1.6 The Bride Wears the Accessory 00:00:43
1.7 The Yugurs from Xi Zhi Ha Zhi 00:02:32
1.8 Joda to the Groom 00:00:54
1.9 A Pastoral Song 00:02:30
1.10 Here Come the Guests 00:02:41
1.11 Chanting at the Banquet 00:01:22
1.12 Ba Xi Gu Liu Liu 00:00:38
1.13 Yu'er, a love song 00:01:44
1.14 San Hua Cao 00:00:48
1.15 Salar Zhi Ling 00:01:12
1.16 Ixora on a High Mountain, Yu'er 00:01:23
1.17 Persicaria Orientalis, Hua'er 00:00:38
1.18 Kids of The Salar Riding Waves, Hua'er 00:00:58
1.19 The Yellow River on the Left and Cliffs on the Right 00:01:11
1.20 Song of Toasting 00:01:02
1.21 A Traditional Wedding Song of Tu people 00:01:08
1.22 Welcoming Guests 00:01:11
1.23 An Zhao Dance 00:02:48
1.24 Come to Play on the Ridge 00:00:44
1.25 Mounting the Horse 00:00:55
1.26 Daughter's Complaint 00:01:53
1.27 Red Blossom Festival 00:01:12
1.28 A Girl's Song 00:00:55
1.29 The Lad Can't Move His Eyes Away 00:01:14
1.30 Dongxiang Yi Ling 00:01:54
1.31 Life is Short 00:01:14
1.32 Sour-Sweet Pears 00:01:30
1.33 Dongxiang Si Ling 00:00:55
1.34 Hardship in Old Age 00:03:26
1.35 An Old Peasant 00:00:56
1.36 Picturesque Valley of Tangwang 00:00:55
1.37 A Dongxiang Girl's Song 00:01:49
1.38 Mi La Ga Hei 00:00:44
1.39 The Rolling Dragon Brings the Rain 00:01:27
1.40 A Bonan Melody 00:01:23
1.41 A Melody about a Lover 00:01:21
1.42 Big Eyes 00:01:24
1.43 A Pony 00:01:37
1.44 Cang Lang Lang Melody 00:01:18
1.45 A Banquet Song 00:00:35
1.46 A Straight Melody 00:01:35

Audio Sample:
All soundclips are provided by Tidal and are for illustrative purposes only.
