Throughout, composer Carlos Viola filters his own experiences of visceral Flamenco performances and devotional music through the lens of gothic fantasy. \"Corona de Siete Azahares\" soars from the parapets of high towers, buffeted by dueling guitars and propulsive snare rolls. \"Del Santo Nombre\" in contrast provides a moment of quiet introspection, forlorn piano melodies creeping across flagstones while looming strings cast long shadows.
