Description

Artist: Marvin Gaye
Title: A Tribute To The Great Nat King Cole
Product Type: VINYL LP

Limited 180 gram heavyweight vinyl LP pressing. Early in his career Motown legend Marvin Gaye had wanted to be a crooner and his primary idol in this field was Nat King Cole. So it's only natural that he would pay tribute to him on this covers album midway through his early 60's success. This album features the favorites, "Unforgettable," "It's Only A Paper Moon," "Mona Lisa," and many more. Marvin Gaye helped to shape the sound of Motown Records during this period and was one of the greatest voices to emerge from the label. Marvin Gaye helped to shape the sound of Motown in the 1960s, first as an in-house session player and later as a solo artist with a string of solo hits and duet recordings with Mary Wells, Kim Weston, and Tammi Terrell, later earning the titles Prince of Motown and Prince of Soul.
