Description

Artist: Marvin Gaye
Title: That's the Way Love Is
Product Type: VINYL LP

Limited vinyl LP repressing of this 1970 soul classic. When "That's The Way Love Is," from the album M.P.G. became such a huge hit, Motown issued an album of the same name, and included the title song as it's centerpiece. The album, which went Top 20 R&B, is also significant for Marvin's cover versions of recent pop hits, particularly "Abraham, Martin and John" (a U.K. hit) and "Yesterday," now recognized as one of the greatest interpretations of a Beatles song. Marvin helped to shape the sound of Motown in the 1960s, first as an in-house session player and later as a solo artist with a string of hits and duet recordings with Mary Wells, Kim Weston, and Tammi Terrell, later earning the titles Prince of Motown and Prince of Soul.
