CD reissue. Infamous Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits, with his side project; The Notting Hillbillies, including Brendan Croker, Steve Phillips, and Guy Fletcher. They recorded just one album together, "Missing... Presumed Having a Good Time," before the members returned to concentrate on their primary musical outlets. The result is a low-key, lively run-through of mostly traditional, blues-based songs with a handful of originals. The styles range from the stunning harmonies of "Railroad Worksong" with some somber guitar from Knopfler, to the "50s-style rock ballad 'Bewildered," to the cheerful, tropical flavored "One Way Gal." A polished production of the time, an easy listening composition, and a codified vision of the blues.
