As we cast about for a solo vibraphone album to satisfy our desire to have a solo-instrumental album by as many single instruments as practicable, we could think of only one player, an old friend we wanted to author his own chapter in the JMI story: Warren Wolf. We first worked with Warren back in 2007 for Brown Brothers Recordings when he was just a newbie on the New York scene and have watched with amazement as he's ascended to his rightful position as one of the giants of the current vibraphone. There are many virtuosos out there but Warren's complete lack of judgment beyond "good" and "bad" make him one of the most pleasant people to be around. In a perfect world we'd record Warren Wolf records all day, every day. By the way, he brought his marimba too.
