Kaye Bohler A True Rhythm and Blues Performer Kaye Bohler, a blues woman who's singing drips with authenticity from the undeniable strength and resonance behind her rich voice to her heartfelt interpretations. Sheer charm, personality and magnetism dominate this curvatious curly-haired diva's every performance. A True Performer! For twenty years Kaye has been captivating her audiences with her rich vocals, sexy wit and energetic moves. She poses a formidable triple threat as a singer, songwriter and bandleader. Her down to earth rapport with her fans and her genuine charisma deliver a riveting stage presence. This year has brought about the production of Kaye's third CD, Kaye Bohler Live at Moe's Alley. The power, vibrancy and intense depth of a Kaye Bohler performance are definitely captured with this live performance. This hard working veteran performer with 20 years of experience leaves every venue having rocked her audience and her band as hard as a performer can. Over the years Kaye's career has spanned the study of several musical genres until she found the blues, and in her own words, 'When I found the blues I came home. The Blues are the foundation for all that I sing' Kaye began her singing career in the early 1980's studying music at San Diego's Jazz School and developing her voice through private study. She began her professional career as a singing waitress and by sitting in with bands in the local clubs. Moving to Los Angeles in 1986 she worked a rigorous schedule in the lounge and club circuit. She fronted everything from duos and trios cover bands and blues. She covered the tunes of her favorite influences such as Etta James, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Buddy Guy, B.B. King and Al Green. In 1989 she sang and danced her way across Japan with the 'American Can-Can Review'. When Kaye returned to Los Angeles she decided to begin to focus her efforts on an exclusive career as a blues singer. She formed her first Blues band, The Big K Blues Band, working in Los Angeles with her blues project and with various cover bands. In 1993 she joined the popular show band 'Capone' and toured the Nevada Casino and resort circuit. In 1994, bandleader, Kaye migrated north to San Luis Obispo and formed the very successful Blues Band, 'Kaye Bohler and the Kingpins.' While on the Central Coast of California she passionately sunk her teeth into the blues. She developed her songwriting ability and in 1996 began performing on the festival blues circuit, opening for such acts as Boz Scaggs, Rod Piazza, Johnny Johnston, Charlie Musselwhite, Magic Slim and Sista Monica. With a need to surround herself with world class touring musicians and more opportunities, Kaye's interests moved north to the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1997 she was invited to join the San Francisco based World Beat band, Pele Juju, which prompted her move north to Santa Cruz. She traveled the World Beat Festival Circuit for 2 1/2 years performing in Texas, Alaska, Oregon, Washington and all over northern California while simultaneously forming and establishing her current blues band, the Kaye Bohler Band. Since 1997 The Kaye Bohler Blues band has been performing on the Central and Northern California Blues Circuit and soon thereafter in 1998 produced their first promotional CD, entitled 'Kaye Bohler.' The year 2000 brought the release of Kaye Bohler's first 13 song, self-produced original CD entitled,' Men and Music' and just a few of her performances include the Monterey Bay Blues Festival, the Metro Fountain Blues Festival and the Morro Bay Harbor Festival. Great success has been reached 2003 for Kaye with her new experiment The Kaye Bohler Trio. Kaye steps out with the tasty upright bass playing of Gary Rosen and the Wes Montgomery style blues guitar of Bruce Ferrell. This veteran musicianship combined with the infusion of years of singing the Blues; produce a new Kaye Bohler unplugged sound. The dreamy, sultry nuances of Kaye's voice are truly recognized in this project, along with dynamics, technique and amazing depth of soul. Her Bluesy interpretations of old standards coupled with straight ahead blues numbers, performed in an almost taste of the Delta approach, give off steamy likenesses to Billy Holiday. A Kaye Bohler torch CD is sure to follow this live release. Kaye Bohler is a powerhouse Rhythm and Blues woman and has been frequently compared to Tina Turner, Janis Joplin, Bette Midler and Etta James for her sincere and genuine strength as a stage performer and rich vocal tones. Kaye's relentless focus on twenty years of perfecting her craft, as a singer songwriter and performer are dauntingly evident as she makes her mark, as is a powerfully soulful yet 'in your face fun blues woman'. Her upbeat natural professionalism on stage leave her audience's truly entertained and energized. Kaye is currently touring the west coast with her exciting rhythm and blues sound and is promoting her latest release 'Kaye Bohler Live at Moe's Alley.' This CD captures the authentic Kaye Bohler along with all the beautiful spontaneous moments of her all-star world-class band. Possibly her greatest release yet.
