Dean Martin was one of the most distinctive and recognizable talents of the post-war era, whether as singer, actor or comedian, and with his effortless charisma and relaxed self-assurance breezed his way to a host of hit records and movies in a career that spanned five decades, establishing his unique persona as a member of the Rat Pack alongside Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, and others This great value 56-track 2-CD set draws on his single releases from his debut on the Diamond label in 1946 and through his career with Capitol up to 1962. It includes elected A and B sides of releases in the USA and UK, and features 35 recordings which were Billboard, Cash Box or UK chart entries. It naturally includes the classic hits "Memories Are Made of This", "That's Amore", "Volare", "Return To Me", and many others, as well as an early 'live' recording of his later big hit "Everybody Loves Somebody". It also features some tracks which were not on albums, and so have not been readily available over the years. It's a highly enjoyable showcase for his unmistakeable trademark style, which earnt him the nickname "The King Of Cool".
