Green of Winter is the third album-length composition for tenor saxophone quartet Battle Trance. The album marks the final work of an album trilogy that also includes Palace of Wind and Blade of Love. Green of Winter is the culmination of the musical cultivation and deep friendship between the four band members over the past eight years. Since forming in 2012, the four saxophonists in Battle Trance (Travis Laplante, Patrick Breiner, Matt Nelson, Jeremy Viner) have spent hundreds of hours deepening their musical connection with each other, maturing as an ensemble through relentless touring everywhere from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, Montreal to Vancouver, and most places in between.
