Anton Bruckner was undoubtedly Sergiu Celibidache's favourite composer, and with the Munich Philharmonic the great maestro had created the perfect orchestra for his musical ideas. The MPHIL label celebrated Bruckner's 200th birthday with two very special releases: Symphonies No. 7 and No. 8 from 1984 and 1985 - two historical and previously unreleased recordings from the Herkulessaal of the Residenz Munich - genuine rarities from the orchestra's vast archive, and newly remastered.
