Ojos Verdes The newest CD from Patrick Alban & Noche Latina with special guests 'The Miami Relatives': recording artists Juan 'Cheito' Quiñones & Edwin Bonilla from The Gloria Estefan Band and The Miami Sound Machine. A Personal Note from Patrick: This new CD is all about Cuban, Puerto Rican, Peruvian, Ecuadorian, Brazilian and Latin American music. Flavor is what it is all about. It is in Spanish and it includes classic songs made popular by the Buena Vista Social Club, Beni More, Gipsy Kings and more, along with some originals that came from my heart ...Patrick' 'The Miami Relatives' is what I call my good friends Cheito and Edwin. They are a great inspiration to me. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with two of the best musicians in the business. In between these two extraordinary friends, there is a history of performances with countless superstars in today's music industry. Some of these include: Ricky Martin, Madonna, Quincy Jones, Frank Sinatra, John Secada, Arturo Sandoval, Tony Bennett, Manhattan Transfer, Patti Labelle, Thalia, Cachao, Julio Iglesias, Stevie Wonder, Tito Puente Jr., and Shakira. Edwin performed on numerous movie soundtracks, including those for Evita, Walt Disney's Anastasia, Something About Mary (in which he also appeared), Make Me Dance and The Perez Family, to name a few. Edwin has performed on the following recordings: Lucero (Latin Pop), Shakira, Paulina Rubio, Marc Anthony and Jimmy Smith (Jazz/Blues). Edwin is also working on his third World Beat project. He has appeared on many television specials and programs throughout the United States, South America, Japan, and Europe, including The World Music Awards, The Arsenio Hall Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Top of the Pops - London VH1 Honors and many others. As for Cheito, there isn't a place in the Salsa/Latin world when you don't hear his name. He has had countless numbers of recording sessions, including the following: Carlos Vives, Arturo Sandoval, La India and much more. I thank the day when I met these talented guys! They have truly become such good friends and they are a part of my music world. My liver may not like it, but when they are in town, all those long nights in the studio with the Tequila shots are incredible! There are ideas flying all over the place and I wouldn't change it for the world! Cheito is one of the most hard working and dedicated band directors that I have ever met. When he is in the studio he takes over the song and the rest is history. In Edwin's case, there hasn't been a solo that I have heard a second time-that is evident in the new CD. I can't say enough about my guys...without them I would be lost! Juan Carmona & Mark Easley are truly my 'right hand men!' Juan is incredibily knowledgeable when it come to traditional Latin music and it amazes me! I am always learning from him and I have put a lot of his ideas on my CD Mark has been my friend for the last 10 years and has a long music history. I always look up to him for advice and he keeps me in shape when we are on stage. There are many other musicians that I would like to mention who have been there for me. René Ibañez, percussion, is a well-known and fantastic percussionist from Cuba. René was the one who introduced me to Edwin and Cheito. I have the greatest respect for all of these guys and I appreciate their friendship and advice: Rafael Moteagudo, drums, Benito Lopez, congas, Elionel Molina, violin, Hoppy Hopkins, percussion, Rosa Morales, vocals, Ted Davis, Sax and Flute, Craig Considine, trombone, Didier Prossaird, piano/keyboards, David Carrero, guitar, Ron Zebron, guitar, and behind all of the keyboards, mixing, producing, arrangements and recording, Brad Chatterton. I hope you enjoy 'Ojos Verdes' as much as I enjoyed making it. Thank you for your support! I would like to dedicate Ojos Verdes to all of my fans that love and support our Salsa/Gypsy music and to Panchito: "you are always in my heart!" Patrick Albán.
