This EP will leave you wanting more and wondering if you have just stumbled on the next big thing to come out of England?!! It is very likely you have! Madfish were formed in September 2010 by Colin Wales and Greg Wilson, out of the ashes of the '70's Punk/Mod band The Head. Greg and Colin had just completed two successful reunion tours with The Head in 2008 and 2009, releasing an album of old material 'Still Nothing To Do In A Town Like Leatherhead' and an EP of new material 'Music For Intelligent People...and Morons' on Detour Records. Greg and Colin were joined by accomplished bassist Trevor Cornwall and immediately went to work with guitarist Jack Argles on their first recording sessions at Peak Studios in Horley. To add to the unusual dynamics of the group, while the band based themselves in Redhill, Greg now living in Sydney, Australia worked with the rest of the band by email and regular visits to the UK. Madfish made their stage debut in May 2011, playing a number of low key gigs including the 'infamous' Woodnestock festival organised by former Head keyboard player and now of Macavity's Cat, Kevin Abbott. In September 2011 Jack was replaced by the very talented and experienced London based guitarist James Bay, completing the Madfish line up and adding the extra quality the guys had been looking for. 2012 saw Madfish recording a bunch of new songs, working on their first album 'Chocolate Ice Cream' at Dick Crippen's (Ten Pole Tudor, King Kurt) Panther Studios, Reigate, for release in early March 2014. So successful have these sessions been that they now have enough songs for two albums, with a follow up album '1979' already planned for release in September 2014. In 2013 Madfish played live again with gigs in Dorking, Brighton and a return to Woodnestock. Madfish carry on with the traditions of The Head with a Mod/Punk sound geared to the 21st Century. Not a tribute band and with something new to say, Madfish will take you back to 1979, mash you up and spit you out in 2013! 2014 will see even further exciting developments as Madfish commence their third album...
