Chapel Porth Beach was the result of Martyn being asked back for a second time by BBC Radio 2 to be a part of their "21st Century Folk" project. He was commissioned to write a song to tell the incredible story of Marc and Vicky Murphy and their rescue by the RNLI who are celebrating their 200th anniversary in 2024. Along with the studio take of the song and a stripped back acoustic version there are two new songs on the EP: 'Will You Come and Get Me?' (in memory of six year old Hind Rajab from Gaza) and 'Getting Older', a song with shades of Neil Young at his best. Joseph also revisits two songs first recorded twenty years ago.. 'Wake Me Up' (2003) gets a complete re work here and 'This Fragile World's (2005) original recording has been given a new vocal and guitar work to represent how Joseph feels the track now. The beautiful cover photograph comes from renowned Canadian photographer Kathy Richardson.
