The obscure American soul singer and songwriter Billy Washington, who also recorded under an alias as Roger Washington, is featured here on this ultra-rare single which first appeared on the Tag Records label in 1961. Both sides of this vintage treasure, "Lovers' Footsteps" b/w "The Rule Book" are cleverly written, catchy, soul/pop tunes about the politics of love. Both tunes are expertly arranged and feature a tight rhythm section punctuated by a funky horn section, led by Billy's excellent vocals which recall other greats from the era, such as Jackie Wilson and Sam Cooke, with a bit of a more laid-back vibe.

1.1 Lovers' Footsteps
