ALASKA REID "Dreamy new single 'Oblivion'... somewhere between Alex G's most spectral moments and Lana Del Rey's melodrama, the explosive ballad acts as a mini life story for Reid" - FADER "Alyeska's fuzz pop soars high... fuzzy guitar riffs and Reid's reverb-drenched vocals" - VICE "The way it incorporates pop elements while remaining grounded in a retro alternative aesthetic, 'Quake' wouldn't sound out of place on Sky Ferreira's 'Night Time, My Time'" - Stereogum "Reid digs up some classic '90s alt rock sounds, her powerful vocals leading the way" - Consequence of Sound "Surging, sprawling sound... Reid's laconic wit is very much her own thing" - KEXP (NPR) "'Oblivion' is a gorgeous slow-burner" - CLASH "One of the sleeper hits of the year for me, 'Boys From Town'... bittersweet, nostalgic vibe" - Gorilla vs Bear "Driving indie rock and bouncy synthpop, with the intimacy of a bedroom pop singer/songwriter" - BrooklynVegan "Debut EP Crush... a heavenly cluster of songs" - Billboard "Captivating vocals... enchanting storytelling" - Buzzbands LA This past December, Alaska Reid stepped out on her own with a collection of short stories in the form of her debut EP, Big Bunny via Terrible Records. With the help of collaborators like A. G. Cook (Charli XCX, Jonsi, PC Music), Max Hershenow (MS MR) and Rodaidh McDonald (Adele, the XX), Alaska Reid made her mark as a solo artist. Before going fully solo, Alaska's band project Alyeska recorded an EP entitled Crush. Produced by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Kurt Vile, Dinosaur Jr.), it was the final album recorded at The Magic Shop legendary studio, following a lineage including David Bowie's Blackstar, Arcade Fire's The Suburbs, plus Lou Reed, Sonic Youth, Blondie and beyond. From a converted one-room schoolhouse in Park County, Montana to playing dive bars on the Sunset Strip in LA and eventually recording in New York City, Alaska's journey is just beginning.
