'Negative White' is the first album by the German/French gothic-rock band Arts of Erebus, released in 2003 on the German underground label Sonorium. The German singer Damien Grey is the frontman and characteristic voice of Arts of Erebus. Together with him, French main composer and lead guitarist Michel Meneguzzi was creating lots of emotional songs. During one year of hard work Arts of Erebus recorded and produced the 10 songs for 'Negative White', which show completely new accents for gothic-rock music. Lots of elements out of the independent scene have been giving strong impulses to the sound of Arts of Erebus. Electronic, New Wave, Dark Metal and of course the 'classical' guitar Gothic Rock are elements to identify Arts of Erebus. They connect everything in a typical style, together with the emotional, headstrong voice of singer Damien and his lyrics, thus expressing very personal feelings and dreams. Arts of Erebus use modern synthesizer sounds as a matter of course in the same way like the traditional gothic guitars and bass. The debut album 'Negative White' is a fabulous tightrope walk inbetween a lot of different styles - neither leaving the gothic sector completely, nor giving the possibility to fit to established norms. In 2007 Arts of Erebus released their second album 'Icon in Eyes', which continued their successful work with even more new impulses.
