In the Beethoven Year 2020, the Chorwerk Ruhr presents a very special production: 'Cafe Beethoven' approaches the composer not with a view to genius, but rather to man - with all his little quirks and weaknesses. A waiter, who knows everything about everybody in Vienna, leads through the entertaining programme. CHORWERK RUHR is one of the most important chamber choirs in Germany. The vocal ensemble, founded in 1999 by Kultur Ruhr GmbH, the Ruhrgebiet municipal association, the city of Essen and the state ministry for labor, social affairs, urban development, culture and sport, has developed into a permanent pillar of vocal art in German-speaking countries. The extraordinary quality of the choir is to meet the special requirements of soloists as well as to achieve a perfect fusion of the ensemble in the choir sound.
