Bastard Jazz is proud to present the brand new album 'Th3rd" from Fukoka, Japan based producer Brisa. Having been co-signed by the likes of Gilles Peterson, Lefto, Danny Krivit, Toshio Matsuura and more, his production is forward thinking, hard to pin down electronic music for the headphones and the dancefloor. The album leads off with "Cloudnine" with it's heavy drums, synth stabs, analog bassline, swirling vocoder bits and ghostly voices drifting in and out, while album single "Behind The Veil" is on first listen evocative of a grittier Floating Points but invokes Footwork vibes, jazz keys, strings and female R&B vocal snippits. "New Way" moves into deeper and atmospheric acid house territories, while "DLMD" brings in elements of funk & soul through it's relentless percussion break and Rhodes interludes. All in all on "Th3rd" Brisa has created an intricate, well thought out world where genre remains submissive to style - whether it's downtempo, deep house, drum'n'bass, or lo-fi beats the sound remains uniquely his own. Fukuoka based DJ and Producer, BRISA started his career in 1997 influenced by Acid Jazz and House music and began producing in 2004 and has been releasing worldwide in the UK, US, Germany, France and Italy garnering Kudos from the likes Jazzanova, Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell, DJ Yellow, Tom Middleton, Gilles Peterson, Lefto to just name a few. BRISA released his debut album 'Elevation Perception' on Geneon Entertainment, with cross-genre collaborations with Monday Michiru and Paul Randolph and more. After a huge success on his debut release - he played at the massive 'Tokyo Crossover Jazz Festival' in 2012 and then had a string of releases on renowned labels like Jazzy Sport, Reverse, Best Of Records which received great supports from Lefto, Simbad, Kev Beadle, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Toshio Matsuura, Cosmopolyphonic and more. Currently he runs the party 'NXTDOOR' in Tokyo
