Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of classic early '70s albums by the late Brook Benton on one CD plus one 1971 non-album single ('A Black Child Can't Smile').This set was remastered by Nick Robbins and includes stellar notes by renowned UK writer and R&B historian Clive Richardson. Benton was a singer and songwriter who was popular with rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and pop music audiences during the late 1950s and early 1960s. He made a comeback in 1970 and eventually racked up over 50 Billboard chart hits in total as an artist, and also wrote hits for other performers.
