Originally issued on Virgin Records in April 1985, Flaunt The Imperfection represented the high-water mark of the first phase of the group, yielding two UK Top 20 singles and a showing in the Top 10 albums chart - Released here in beautiful 40th Anniversary 180g blue vinyl. Those who knew and followed China Crisis didn't blink an eyelid when it was announced that Steely Dan's Walter Becker was to produce the Liverpudlian experimental pop outfit's third album. Gary Daly and Eddie Lundon's gossamer modernism and melodic touches often came straight out of Steely Dan's playbook, in the very best way not aping or lifting, just subtly taking elements of their influence using rhythms, repetition and melody creating a subtle sonic palette.
