CLOUDSCAPE was formed in 2001 (Helsingborg - Sweden). They describe their music to be 'melodic metal with progressive touches'. During 2001 & 2002 they recorded several demos and sent them out to magazines, webzines and record labels in order to get attention and feedback. The feedback from press turned out great and CLOUDSCAPE became quite well known in the underground scene but, the lack of interested record labels made CLOUDSCAPE contact production & management (nowadays also record label) company Roastinghouse in order to ask them to help CLOUDSCAPE out finding a suitable and interested label for them. Roastinghouse has a daily contact with many record labels in different genres around the world so, this finally led up to a few interested record labels. During spring 2004 CLOUDSCAPE entered the Roastinghouse recording studios in order to record their self-titled debut (produced by Anders 'Theo' Theander & Pontus Lindmark). The album was finished in late summer of 2004 so, the album was later on released all over Asia by Japanese label 'Marquee/Avalon' (street date: 18/12-2004) and the European release was handled by German label 'Metal Heaven' (street date: 28/1-2005). The debut album got a great welcome to the metal scene and reviews turned out amazing. CLOUDSCAPE did several shows in Sweden in order to promote their debut album and in October the 2nd 2005 they went to The Netherlands in order to perform live at 'Progpower Europe' which turned out to be a success for CLOUDSCAPE. In late December 2005 CLOUDSCAPE entered the Roastinghouse studio again in order to record their second album entitled 'Crimson skies' but, this time it was Pontus Lindmark who handled the production duties and Anders 'Theo' Theander was executive producer. 'Crimson skies' was mixed, mastered and finished in March 2006 so, the street date for Europe is set to JUNE 3 - 2006. Release dates for Asia and the U.S. are yet to be confirmed. CLOUDSCAPE has been booked for several shows during 2006 and recently announced that they will perform at 'Sweden Rock Festival' and 'Gothenburg Metal Festival'. More gigs and a small tour is in a planning process right now. ------------- -------------- REVIEW FROM MELODIC HEAVEN ONLINE...... Listen up! The Swedish band Cloudscape let the tiger loose again. This new sensational band gained some major interest with their debut last year and I can easily say that this one is another piece of fine hard melodic metal from the band. With this album Cloudscape will climb up among the top releases of 2006. It also beats the debut by miles. The production are like heaven and the progressive elements are exactly where we want them to be. So powerful and strong . How is it possible to write 12 new tracks, 13 IN THE USA... so soon after the debut without losing the pace. I also think that "Crimson Skies" have got the melodies that were missing before. Mike Andersson - the singer, has moved his voice into a new dimension and I am surprised how tight Cloudscape sounds. I guess it's time to track these guys down for some live music next time. If you want something else then Evergrey, Vanden Plas, Symphony X, Valley´s Eve, Lanfear or miss out a new album from Lion´s Share then I suggest you have a bite from Cloudscape´s very own "Crimson Skies". ---------------.
