The "richly talented" (New York Times) "maverick song composer" (New Yorker) Jacob Cooper propels us on a luscious journey with Terrain, his highly anticipated sophomore album. Drenched in otherworldly vocals, processed strings, and elaborate electronic orchestrations, the three expansive pieces of Terrain brim with intricately pulsing soundscapes that lull us into a tranquil meditative state and transport us to a new dimension where time slows down as we bask in the soft, pale glow of infinite timbral layers. Jacob Cooper's compositions have garnered recognition throughout North America and Europe, appearing at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Disney Hall, the Kennedy Center, Soundbox (San Francisco), the MATA Festival (New York), the Spoleto Festival (Charleston), and the Albany Symphony's American Music Festival. Performers of Jacob's music include the San Francisco Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Eighth Blackbird, the JACK Quartet, the Calder Quartet, the Argus Quartet, Brooklyn Rider, Ensemble Connect (formerly ACJW), the Minnesota Orchestra, the Albany Symphony, the Carmina Slovenica choir, the NOW Ensemble, and many more. Also dedicated to teaching, Jacob is an Associate Professor of Music at West Chester University and holds a doctorate in composition from the Yale School of Music.
