Live in Japan: Spring Tour 1973 is a Blu-spec CD2 plus DVD complete limited production edition by Donovan, released as part of the Donovan Paper Sleeve Collection series, celebrating a singer-songwriter who achieved unique popularity from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, with 2025 marking his 60th debut anniversary and 2026 his 80th birthday, and commemorating these milestones with a first-ever paper sleeve reissue of classic albums faithfully recreating the original Japanese LP as closely as possible, including a paper jacket based on the Japanese LP design with an inner sleeve featuring Donovan's own illustrations, the original Japanese obi, a 2026 newly remastered high-quality Blu-spec CD2, new liner notes, lyrics with Japanese translations, and a live album originally released only in Japan that compiles concerts from Donovan's second Japan tour recorded on March 25, 1973 at Osaka Festival Hall and March 26, 1973 at Osaka Koseinenkin Kaikan, featuring songs from the then-newly released Cosmic Wheels, hit singles, early versions of songs later included on Donovan Essence, and special performances such as the exclusive Working Man, and like the 50th anniversary edition sold exclusively through Donovan's official website in 2023, this release also includes a DVD of the tour documentary film Yellow Star directed by Anthony Fouts, filmed during Donovan's visit to Japan, presented as a two-disc set reissued in a paper sleeve format modeled after the original Japanese LP, originally released in 1974, and including it's first-ever CD release in Japan, first paper sleeve release, and a reprint of the original Japanese LP liner notes by Masakazu Kitanaka, Age Ogura, and Goro Nakagawa.
