Sony Music proudly announces the release of THE EQUALIZER 2 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) with original music by Golden Globe® nominee Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek). Harry Gregson-Williams says about the soundtrack: "The score for "The Equalizer 2", while taking a thematic thread from the original, is a slight departure from the sonic framework in terms of emotional landscape. We begin to unfold more of the turmoil and tragedy in Robert McCall's (portrayed by Denzel Washington) life in this film, and the music needed to viscerally respond to the personal confrontation of his own buried grief. I thought the solo cello, both stoic and enduring in tone, offered an honest voice into McCall's internal conflict as he is challenged by the ghosts of his former life." "The emergence of Dave York, McCall's former colleague and confidant, necessitated a thematic signature to distinguish their shared past. I felt that the use of a distant, asymmetrical high trumpet call rooted their connection in a militaristic past while also suggesting a feeling of twisted nostalgia." Antoine Fuqua says about the soundtrack: "Simply put, Harry's score is essential to my filmmaking process. His music truly elevates the film to a new level."
