Rik Jekabson is a well known bay area musician who's played trumpet with Galactic, John Mayer, and most recently alongside Kamasi Washington in Throttle Elevator Music. Here with his sextet on nine new compositions Erik is continuing along the path toward his own sound with a transcendent second album on Wide Hive Records. With an awesome quintet that features Saxophonist Dave Ellis (Charlie Hunter Trio), Guitarist Dave Mac Nab (Hamilton Sf), Bassist John Wiitala, Drummer Hamir Atwal And Legendary Percussionist John Santos. Cut at Fantasy Records In Berkeley the album has a classic feel reminiscent of Creed Taylor's Cti Records but with a modern edge and feel that makes it relevant in the musical current of today.
