Johann Georg Fincke (1680-1749), about whose life circumstances we can hardly more than speculate today can be considered as one of the most important Thuringian organ builder of his time for his artistic legacy with good reason. With the Fincke-organs of the town church of St. John in Neustadt / Orla, in the Protestant branch church in Altenbeuthen and that of the Lutheran parish church Vierzehnheiligen Rainer Goede is on this CD to three central Orgelbauten from the workshop Fincke. For the recording, which is published as part of the successful querstand CD series "organs in Thuringia," the organist chose works that are both temporal and technical-aesthetic closely related to the respective organs, thereby opening up the repertoire of music the now largely forgotten, Thuringia, acting a generation before Bach composer Andreas Armstroff, Johann Heinrich Buttstedt and Nicolaus Vetter.
