Long drawn to acid, Brooklyn-based producer Gunnar Haslam follows up a full-length alongside Tin Man as Romans (BK 020CD/LP, 2016) with Scale No Flam. Gunnar says he was playing around with trying to replicate the bass line of Heaven 17's 1982 classic "Let Me Go" when "things kinda mutated." The A side is completely Gunnar's own with a dominating acid line providing the backbone to a flangey work-out that is totally crazy and totally logical. On the B side, Mike Servito and Justin Cudmore add their perspective with a remix that draws out the hidden angular funk.
Tracks:
1.1 Scale No Flam (6:02)
2.1 Scale No Flam (Servito and Cudmore Bass Shift Mix) (7:45)
